From Emergency to Messy to Merci! The afternoon before leaving town on business, I used a plunger to try to clear what we thought was a backed-up drain, but when we noticed water outside our kitchen window late evening, we panicked. My wife called me the following day, stating that a plumber was trying to get commitment on a ‘$10,000 emergency’ repair job (which we declined) to reroute/repair what he termed a major slab leak and busted pipes. To get temporary relief (and use of the kitchen), he then cut 12 holes in our walls and left. Faced with this major decision, she contacted our insurance company, which put us in contact with CBC Restoration based here in the Santa Clarita Valley to remediate. The team at CBC immediately diagnosed the situation, pulled up the water-damaged flooring, and brought in industrial fans to dry out the kitchen, cabinets, and foundation. CBC was very responsive in terms of project scope, paperwork, and keeping my wife (as I traveled an additional 10 days) up to date during a tough time for our family. Our Project Manager, Noe Loza, clearly explained the process, timelines, our responsibilities, and worked with our insurance company to move things along as quickly as possible. Although our home and our quality of life were severely impacted as our kitchen was unusable for the next eight weeks, the entire team at CBC’s professionalism and thoroughness put us at ease. From small issues like being unable to find an exact match for our original flooring due to the product no longer being sold (and finding a replacement), to making sure that the process continued despite scheduling issues on our part, and perfectly matching the existing paint colors of our cabinets and walls. The CBC crew that came to our home and performed various tasks, from rebuilding our lower cabinets around the kitchen sink to patching the 12 holes without any trace of where the 12 holes were originally. Their quality of work was impeccable, matching cabinet finishes and reinstalling the entire downstairs flooring! Finally, when things like this happen, you expect the worst from businesses who pounce on an ’emergency situation’, but CBC ‘restored’ my faith working with true professionals who take pride in their work and make sure that we as customers are COMPLETELY satisfied. I can’t tell you how good it feels to be back in our house and have full use of everything as if nothing ever happened.
